Dorris B. Lemp, born on November 20, 1934, in Syracuse, NY, passed away on June 28, 2025, at her home in Chapin, SC. Dorris was a dedicated physical education teacher whose influential career spanned over 30 years at West Genesee High School, where she coached various sports and inspired countless students to pursue their athletic passions and earn several championships.

In her spare time, Dorrie found joy in spending time on NY lakes, where she enjoyed boating and fishing. Her enthusiasm for sports extended beyond coaching; she was an avid badminton player and took pride in winning numerous medals in the Senior Empire State Games for badminton with Jean Teter, showcasing her commitment to physical fitness and competition.

Dorris was preceded in death by, Jean Teter; her sister, Janet Mannara; her mother, Helen Harrington Lemp, and father, Harold Lemp.

Dorris is survived by several nieces and nephews; and her brother-in-law, Louis Mannara.

She will be remembered for her loving spirit, enjoyment of sports, and kindness to all animals.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 3, from 10 a.m to noon at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.  Services will follow. Dorris will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Baldwinsville.
