Dorothy A. Walker of Baldwinsville, NY passed away March 21, 2009 at Syracuse Nursing Home where she has been gently cared for the past 6 years. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, William W. Walker in 2006. Dorothy was born in Assumption, IL October 5, 1916, the youngest child of Jay and Ethyl Cushing. She has two brothers, Billy and Bob Cushing, and a sister Mary E. Kennedy, all have pre-deceased her. Shortly after Dorothy's birth, the family moved to Decatur, IL. There, on September 3, 1937, she married William W. Walker and his two children Joanne Lea and James L. Walker. The children, 5 and 4 years respectively, quickly accepted her as their loving mother. Joanne, her daughter, died in December 1999 from cancer. In the year 2000, Dorothy and William moved from Bloomington, IL to the Radisson Community near Baldwinsville, NY.

Dorothy is survived by her son, James and his wife Karen of Baldwinsville, NY; her son-in-law, William H. Lewellen of Sarasota, FL; Six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Gregory and John, Walker of Baldwinsville: and Brian, Cynthia and Brent Lewellen; as well as nine great grandchildren.

Dorothy will be laid to rest March 27, 2009 in Greenwood Cemetery in Assumption, IL next to her husband, mother and father.
