Dorothy E. (Crego) Matteson, 99 of Baldwinsville passed away Friday at McHarrie Pointe.
Dorothy was a Lifelong resident of Baldwinsville where she met her husband, the late Delos Matteson to whom she remained married for 71 years until his passing in 2018.
Dorothy was active in the church, she was a member of First Presbyterian of Baldwinsville where she taught Sunday School and was a past president of the New York State Presbytery. She was a Graduate of Oswego Teachers College beginning her career teaching in a one room schoolhouse. Dorothy was also a member of the Grange, Female Charitable Society and the Travelers Club for many years. Those who knew her would recognize natural leadership within the community and her passing will leave a hole in the hearts of many. Outside of her professional roles Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, and playing Bocci ball.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is predeceased by her son, Robert.

She is survived by her son, Dr. David (Denise) Matteson of Annapolis MD; niece, Joan Kingsley-Piorun of Baldwinsville ; grandchildren, Brian Matteson of Baltimore MD; Racheal (Bret) McConnaughhay of Annapolis MD, and great grand daughters, Zoey and Wren McConnaughhay. In addition to her immediate family Dorothy leaves behind a vast number of extended family and friends by whom she will be greatly missed.

Calling Hours will be from 4-7 pm, Thursday Aug. 11 at Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville. A Graveside Service will be held at Riverview Cemetery, 10:00 am on Friday Aug. 12 with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am in the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville.
