Doris Anne
Hildebrandt
Dec 19, 1932 — Sep 28, 2026
Doris A. Hildebrandt passed away on September 28, 2026. She was born on December 19, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Williston Park on Long Island. After graduating from Green Mountain College in Vermont, she married Herbert Hildebrandt and moved to Baldwinsville, New York, in 1954.
Doris was a devoted member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville, serving in many capacities for more than 65 years. She was also a proud P.E.O. Sister and a member of the Baldwinsville Travelers Club for over 45 years. She enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to explore much of the United States and many countries abroad.
McHarrie Life held a special place in Doris's heart. She volunteered for more than 30 years through the Home Auxiliary and served as an officer, committee chair, and member of the McHarrie Life Foundation Board. After moving to McHarrie Towne in 2001, she helped establish the Residents Association and served as its treasurer and secretary. As both a resident and Foundation Board member, Doris uniquely experienced the mission she helped guide. Her generosity, leadership, and deep love for the community left a lasting legacy that will benefit residents for generations to come.
Doris generously shared her time and talents with her family, church, and community. She loved knitting, gardening, and creating handmade cards for those she loved. She could often be found sewing baby blankets and knitting mittens for the local Christmas Bureau, quietly helping others without seeking recognition. Her kindness, humility, and willingness to serve were hallmarks of her life.
In 2016, at age 84, Doris was honored as the Outstanding Baldwinsville Volunteer Woman of the Year, an award that reflected her lifelong commitment to service.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mildred Becker; her husband of 53 years, Herbert J. Hildebrandt; and her brother, Robert W. Becker.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, Diana (Frank) Anastas of Baldwinsville, NY; Carol (Christopher) Smith of Baldwinsville, NY; and Linda (Charles) Hildebrandt-Smith of Richmond, VA; her grandchildren, Audra Sevey, Lindsay Vogt, Cheryl Teal, Mark Anastas, and Ryan Smith; six great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Georgianna Becker of Webster, New York.
A memorial service and burial was held privately for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the McHarrie Life Foundation, Meigs Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027, or to the Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps.
