Obituary

Donald A. "Mac" MacDonald, 84, of Baldwinsville passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009, at St. Josephs Hospital, with his children by his side throughout a long illness. Born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, the son of William and Alice MacDonald. He was a graduate of Queens University, Kingston and served with the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II.

Mac was a manufacturing engineer with General Electric, Xerox, and retired from Crouse Hinds. During his retirement , he enjoyed and shared his gift of wood working with family and friends. He was a member of the Canadian Legion and past social member of the American Legion Post #113 and VFW Post #153 as well as the Moose Lodge #644.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Teddy, William and Ronald; wife Josephine (1975) and daughter, Donna Lee MacDonald-Winslow (2006)

Surviving to cherish his memory are his sister Lois (Tom) Hopkinson of Kingston, Ontario; his son, Donald (Chris) MacDonald; daughters, Karen (Jerry) Rice, Stacie (Mark) Livingston and Lisa Brogan all of Baldwinsville. Ten grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Tracie, Kellan, Colleen, Ashley, Michael, Meagan,Mackenzie, Tyler, Ryan and Madison; several nieces, nephews and countless friends on both sides of the border.

Services: 10:00am Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial in Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours are 4-7pm Monday, August 24, 2009 at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
