Donald L. Coogan, 94, of Baldwinsville, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Hornell, NY, on May 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Donal F. Coogan and Lena Coogan Kinne. Don was a graduate of Hornell High School in 1950, excelling in sports and was inducted into the Hornell High School Sports Hall of Fame. He married Kathryn (Brosnan) Coogan in 1953 at St. Ann's Church, Hornell, NY.

Don proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954 as a flight deck arresting gear technician. Following an honorable discharge, he and his wife moved to Saranac Lake, NY. Don graduated from Paul Smiths College and was employed by the American Management Association. He located to the Baldwinsville area where he worked for Uhl, Hall, and Rich, then as vice president of distribution construction with Bradley & Williams, Power Line Contractors.

Don retired from Stone & Webster Corporation having served as a project manager in Saudi Arabia, Alaska, and Philadelphia, PA. Don loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing in Canada, Key West, Alaska, and hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks. He was an avid golfer and in his later years enjoyed reading and bird watching.

He was also a member of the American Legion Post #113 in Baldwinsville and former member of the Punta Gorda, FL Elks Club.

Don was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Benesch; brothers, Carlyle Coogan and Harold Kinne.

His greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Kathryn; son, Donald; daughter, Ann (Mark) Lesselroth; granddaughters, Hannah (Ben) Cautela, Katie and Grace Lesselroth; his sister Cheryl Kinne; and much-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held at a later date at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
