Donald A. "Don" Carpenter , 78, of Phoenix, passed away Monday. Born in Fulton, he was a 1965 graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School.

Don was a self-employed contractor, served with the Cody Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years, five years as Chief. He was a veteran of the US Army and former member of the American Legion Post 418 in Phoenix.

Don enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and westerns

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Linda; children, Donald (Cindy) Carpenter, Christy (Eric) Conklin, Edward Carpenter, and James (Kathleen) Thomas; and nine grandchildren.

At Don's request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
