Donald D. Austin, 64, of Baldwinsville, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at his home after a short illness. He was born in Asheville, NC and has lived in Baldwinsville for over 40 years. He was a 1965 graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy and was a life member of the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Department. Don retired in 2002 from the Local 267 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union after 36 years. In addition, he also ran his own welding business in Baldwinsville. For 26 years, Don also did track welding at numerous dirt tracks in the area.

Survivors: his life long companion, Linda Thomas of Baldwinsville; sons, Donald C. Austin (Sandra) of N. Syracuse and Rex T. Austin of Denver, CO; mother, Carolyn Kociuba of Dewitt; brother, Tom (Teri) Austin of Cazenovia; and a nephew, William Austin of Cazenovia.

Calling hours: 2:00-5:00pm Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer st. Baldwinsville. A memorial service will follow at 5:00pm.
