Delos S. Matteson, 97, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. He was born in Erieville, NY to Delos and Alma Matteson. Despite being orphaned at 4 years old and growing up in the depression, he grew up to be a very kind and caring man, loved and appreciated by his family and many friends. He was a graduate of Jordon High School and served in the Army Air Corps in WW II. Delos retired from NY Telephone after 35 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 70 years and served as a Deacon and Elder. Delos was also a member of the Baldwinsville Grange and was a volunteer for the Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels for many years. Delos and his wife, Dorothy, enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.

Delos is predeceased by his son, Robert A. Matteson in 1986.

Delos is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dorothy; son, Dr. David (Denise) Matteson of Annapolis, MD; grandchildren, Racheal McConnaughhay and Brian Matteson; niece, Joan Kingsley Piorun; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Service is 12:00 pm Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, 64 Oswego St, Baldwinsville. Private burial is in Riverview Cemetery.
