David "Dave" Sant, 85, of Baldwinsville, passed away, Saturday.

Born in Fulton, he was an army veteran having served with the US Army in the 1st Armored Division during the Vietnam era.

Dave was trained as a computer programmer at CCBI and went on to work for companies in Syracuse and Auburn. He retired from Miller Brewing in Fulton upon their closing. He then went on to work security for Rite Aid before fully retiring at age 73.

Dave served the Baldwinsville Community for many years. Beginning in the 1960's he joined the Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps and gave 17 years of service. In the 1980's he joined the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 43 years. During his time holding the position of president and captain of the fire police. Dave was also an active member of the Onondaga County Fire Police Association. Dave was also a public safety dispatcher for the Village of Baldwinsville for a short time.

He enjoyed volunteering his time with the Female Charitable Society repairing their medical equipment. He enjoyed spending time at Canton Woods Senior Center in recent years. Dave had a lifetime enjoyment of the classic western movies.

Dave was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Joanne; and sister, Nancy Fay.

He is survived by his son, Steve (Darcy) Sant and daughter, Beckie (Wayne) Wasielewski both of Baldwinsville; sister, Janet Sellars; and grandchildren, Caitlin, Justin (Bryanne), Cameron, and Collin; great-granddaughter, Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Services will be private.
