David S. Aberant of Baldwinsville, New York, aged 82 years, died suddenly of natural causes on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

He was born at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, WA to Edward and Jeanne Aberant on December 23, 1942 where his father was briefly stationed prior to being deployed in World War II. He grew up in Wilkes-Barre, PA and was a proud graduate of GAR high school where he was a varsity wrestler.

He then attended Kings College and later received a Masters degree from Long Island University. The majority of his career was spent in higher education where he taught classes including microbiology, biology, anatomy and physiology to thousands of students over a career spanning five decades at schools including New York Chiropractic College, New York Institute of Technology, Long Island University, SUNY Farmingdale, and various community colleges.

David was a devoted father who was at various times Scoutmaster and little league coach. For many years he was an avid softball player. He also enjoyed collecting, camping, and spoiling his dog.

He is survived by his wife Carol, beloved dog Heidi, son Kevin (Laura), grandchildren Elizabeth, Catherine and David J., and brothers Brian and Eugene. He was predeceased by his first wife Alice, son David B., and brother Edward.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 612 Mt Olivet Rd, Wyoming, PA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the SPCA International (www.spcai.org).
