Colin William Kahl, 83, of Baldwinsville, a loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Tuesday at Upstate University Hospital. Colin was born on March 12, 1932 in West Bend, Wisconsin, the son of the late Herbert and Clara Wolf Kahl. He graduated from Catholic University in 1955 and taught in several Prep Schools in New Jersey, Iowa and Wisconsin before moving to CNY in 1970. In 1973 he settled in Baldwinsville where he and his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth, raised their family. Colin taught English and was then a guidance counselor at Liverpool High School for 29 ½ years, retiring in 1999. In retirement he remained very active; he subbed as a counselor at Liverpool High School and Baker High School. He also served on the Baldwinsville Board of education for 6 years. In 2005 he volunteered as a videographer for PAC B in Baldwinsville. He spent many happy hours filming local events & preparing DVD's for playing on Public Access television. Failing health caused him to cease doing this in June, 2014. He was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church and enjoyed attending daily mass and the time of fellowship that followed.



Colin is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Fellerhoff Kahl; and their children: Ann Kahl, Jonathan (Katrina) Kahl and Amy(Michael) Gunn; sisters: Ruth Weber of Rice Lake, WI, Jean (Jack) Gabor of Gibsonia, PA and Judy (Daniel) Clemens of Arlington Heights, IL; grandchildren: Katherine Kahl and Gavin Gunn and several nieces and nephews.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, January 25, 2016, at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd. Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm in the church on Sunday, January 24. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
