Clifford "Cliff" Yackel, 85, of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday at the Commons on St. Anthony. Born in Syracuse, he lived in Warners before moving to Baldwinsville in 1994.
He was employed with Buckely Southland Oil for over 20 years. Cliff was a life member of the Warners Fire Dept. and of the Onondaga County Fire Police. He enjoyed gardening, country music, and spending time with his family.
Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mildred Yackel; wife, Kathleen; and seven brothers and one sister. Surviving are his children, James (Roberta) Yackel, Vicki (Butch) Dirienzo, Anthony (Connie Rogers) Yackel, CarolAnn DiFabio, and their mother, MaryAlice VanVlack, Shannon (Isaac) Bidwell, and Shaun Smith; Cliff was "Pop Pop" to seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, October 28 from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital, the Commons on St. Anthony, and Buckley Landing for the exemplary care given to Cliff.
