Amyotte
July 27, 1931 – August 12, 2019
Clayton Amyotte, 88, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation. He started working at Carrier Corp. at the age of 19 and retired when he was 62. When Clayton retired, he chose to get his CDL license and worked for Syracuse City Schools. Clayton joined the Navy when he was 21 and after being honorably discharged, he joined the Navy Reserves, transferred to the Air Force Reserves, and completed his military career in the Army Reserves. Clayton served his country proudly. He belonged to many organizations in the Baldwinsville Community, including the Moose Lodge, American Legion, and was a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Clayton attended the Syracuse Police Academy and joined the Minoa Police Dept. part time and then transferred to the Baldwinsville Police Department. He also worked for Baldwinsville as the Bingo Inspector. Clayton loved working with children and volunteered for the Hiawatha Council Boy Scouts of America and also restarted the Knights of Columbus Squires. Clayton also volunteered with the Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corp. and the Fire Department. He enjoyed traveling and traveled the US extensively, visiting 49 States and had only Colorado left to see.
Clayton is predeceased by his wife, Marie Batchelor Amyotte.
Clayton is survived by his daughters, Theresa Amyotte and Elana (David) Brinkerhoff; grandchildren, Jason Amyotte, Holly Brinkerhoff (Glen) Webb, and Beth Brinkerhoff Witchey; great-grandchildren, Ayden and Jaylyn Amyotte and Emma and Griffin Webb.
Calling hours are 2-4 pm, Sunday August 18 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A Graveside Service will be 11 am Monday, August 19 at Riverview Cemetery, Tappen St, Baldwinsville.
