Staff Sergeant Clarence "Bud" Randall, 100, beloved father, died peacefully surrounded by family members at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse on July 6th. A World War II veteran, he was a member of the 373rd Engineer Regiment. He attained 3 battle campaign stars and received the Meritorious Service Unit Plaque.
Bud was born on August 4th, 1919 in Pittsburgh, PA to Clarence D. and Loretta V. Randall. Bud was happily married to Betty for 68 years. After his service, Bud earned an accounting degree from Robert Morris University that served him well in his career including twice as a college VP; Point Park & Saint Lawrence University. A natural mathematician, Bud, an enrolled agent, did taxes through spring of 2020. Bud loved horses, was a mounted sheriff's deputy in Allegheny County and rode until he was 80.
Bud was a patient and loving father. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him, as friends and family will attest. Bud lived his values; kindness, a strong work ethic, and Christianity.
He is survived by 2 daughters; Pamela (Dale) Hardin of TX and Lori (Dr. Mark) Maxon of Fayetteville; 4 sons; Clarence Jr. of MD, Paul of Baldwinsville, Dr. James (Janice) of NC, Dr. Mark (Dr. Kiti) of Canton; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty.
Services: Monday, July 13th, 10:00 AM at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, Liverpool (Service also streamed on Church Facebook) Entombment following at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse.
