Kingsley
May 16, 1915 – May 14, 2011
Chester F. Kingsley of East Dead Creek Road, Baldwinsville has gone to be with his Lord two days short of his 96th birthday. Chet was a 1932 graduate of the Baldwinsville Academy and a 1933 graduate of the Central City Business School in Syracuse. He attended Syracuse University full-time until the onset of WWII. During the War, he served with the 848th Army Air Force Storage Depot at the NYS Fairgrounds. Chester was a retired G.E. tax and finance executive who worked in the Electronics Department for over 32 years. He was a member of the Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church since 1929 and a Free and Accepted Mason of the Seneca River Lodge #160 since 1938. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching and volunteering at the Syracuse Home Association where the Onondaga County Office of the Aging in 1996 named him Care Giver of the Year. Chet was pre-deceased by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Kingsley in April 1991, and his beloved wife of 57 years, E. Jean Rugg in February 1999.
Survivors: his daughters, Cathy J. Grant (John) of Warren, PA and Lisa L. Atwater (Charles) of Homer, NY; grandchildren, D. Scott Grant, Melanie Kingsley Kennedy, Chaz K. Atwater, Luke Chester Atwater and Tara L. Atwater; great grandchildren, A.J., Jaylen, Keilani and Damian; sisters, Wilma Sue Williamson and Ella Jane Christian; and one brother, Norman Kingsley.
Calling hours will be held at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 4-7pm with a Masonic Service immediately following. The funeral service will be 10:00am Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 71 W. Genesee St., Baldwinsville, with burial immediately following at the Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
Memorial gifts may be made to the organ fund of the Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church or to the Syracuse Home Association Foundation.
