Charles Darwin Pond, 60, of Baldwinsville, NY passed on peacefully Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014, at St. Josephs Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Chicago, Illinois June 17, 1953, he grew up in Northbrook, Illinois attending Glenbrook North High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign in 1975, with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Education and from the U of I Institute of Aviation with his Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic certification and his Flight Instructor certification. Upon graduation, Charlie worked as a Flight Instructor until becoming a Field Engineer with General Electric working on industrial gas turbines. He later worked as a Systems Engineer for Trans World Airlines and again as a Field Engineer for Turbine Technology Services. He most recently worked as a Senior Consulting Engineer with Pond & Lucier Engineering Services. Charlie loved working on turbines.

He is survived by his brother Rush Corwin (and wife Marty) of Baldwinsville, NY, his sons, Charles Andrew of Dillon, CO and David Tyler of Prairie Village, KS, and their mother, Barbara Jo of Overland Park, KS. He is predeceased by his father, Dr. Robert Corwin, his mother, Mary Rush and his brother, Robert Corwin, Jr.

A memorial service will be held for Charlie on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 1:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville.
