Obituary

Charles E. Monaghan, 72, of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at St. Josephs Hospital. Charles raised his family in the Baldwinsville area. He was born in Watertown, NY May 27, 1939 to Thelma Monaghan and spent his childhood years under the foster parenting of the late Mr. & Mrs. Russell and Hattie Cocaghe on their farm in Philadelphia, NY. After graduating from Evans Mills High School in 1957, he served 3 years in the United States Military. In Sept. of 1960, he married Jean Arlene Thompson and had 4 children. In 1965, Charles received his Associates Degree as a member of the first graduating class from Jefferson Community College. He was employed by local companies including Lennox Industries, Carrier Corporation and General Electric where he held numerous financial, administrative and management positions. Charles was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Arlene and son Greg.

He is survived by his son David; daughters Jean (Steve) Taggart and Diana (Hrayr) Attarian; grandson, Joshua; also surviving Charles is his most cherished companion, Margery Pinet who filled his latter years with much joy whether together cheering loudly for the Yankees and Syracuse Sports Teams or sharing quiet moments over a glass of Port Wine.

Calling hours are 12:00 to 2:00pm Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville with a service to follow at 2:00pm. Burial at Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
