Charles F. McManus, 82, formerly of Baldwinsville died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at the home of his daughter in Standardsville, VA. He was born in Syracuse and lived in Baldwinsville most of his life. Charles retired in 1987 from the Baldwinsville Messenger where he was employed for 40 years. He was an Army veteran of WW II, serving in the European Theatre and receiving the Silver Star. An avid golfer, Charles was a long time member of the Camillus Country Club and won the Handicap Tournament twice while he was there.

Survivors: his wife of 58 years, the former Jean E. Smith; a daughter, Mary McManus of Standardsville, VA; a son Dr. Michael E. McManus of DelMar, CA; a sister, Helen Cleary of Groton; a brother, Peter of Schenectady; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services: 3:00pm Friday, September 2, 2005 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Inc. Baldwinsville. Burial in Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours are 1-3pm Friday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St. prior to the services.
