Charles Anthony "Chuck" Cerio, Sr., 68, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.
Chuck was a graduate of Baldwinsville Baker High School, class of 1970. After a long career in emergency services, including the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department, he retired as senior supervisor for Onondaga County Department of Emergency Communication (911) in 2014. He received many honors over his career in public safety and community service. He was a Life Member and former Deputy Chief of the Baldwinsville Fire Department, and served on the Onondaga County Underwater Recovery Team.
Over the years he enjoyed boating, scuba diving, hunting, gun collecting, and motorcycling, but his biggest joy was spending time with his family.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca "Becky"; sons Chuck Jr. (Patty) and Todd (Jennifer); beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Amelia and Jackson Cerio; sisters Cynthia Burke, Carolyn Austin, and brothers John Abdo, Michael Cerio; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Noreen Abdo and father Charles Cerio.
