Catherine M. Rice, 98, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Baldwinsville and was a lifetime resident. Catherine was an active member of St. Mary's Church in Baldwinsville from raising money to build the parish, to teaching catechism classes, to being a member in the Rosary Group. She loved her community and volunteered at Syracuse Home and was a Cub Scout Leader. Catherine cherished her family and was known for "having the light always on and the door always open".

Catherine is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Carl N. Rice, Jr., daughter, Margaret Tyner, son, Douglas, and siblings, Peter Montague, Clarence Montague, Jane Salisbury, and Charles Montague.

Surviving are her sons, Michael (Jeanne) of Baldwinsville, and Stephen and George (Michelle) of CO; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 4-7 pm Monday, August 19, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St. Baldwinsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 am Tuesday, August 20, at St Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
