Catherine A. "Cathy" Golden, 65, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Francis House in Syracuse, where she had lived gracefully since August. Born in Elmira, New York, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Nancy A. Reed Golden. Cathy graduated from St Francis DeSales High School in Geneva, New York in 1977 and from the University of Virginia in 1981. She worked as an assistant manager at Belhurst Castle in Geneva, at Eckerd in Sarasota, Florida, and then at Rite Aid and Walgreens stores in
Syracuse.

Cathy is survived by her sister, Maureen (Mark) Murphy of Baldwinsville; her brothers, Robert (Ika) Golden of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Michael (Amy) Golden of Denver, Colorado; as well as six nieces and nephews: Ciara (Robert) Cunningham, Christiane Murphy, Conor Murphy, Charles Golden, Andrea Golden, and Anthony Golden. Also surviving are her aunts, Sister Joan Golden, IHM, and Janan Golden; and many beloved cousins and friends.

Cathy's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the caregivers, staff, and volunteers at Francis House, the devoted community of St Augustine's, and her extended family and friends, who all provided such loving care and support during her illness.

Calling hours will be held Friday, January 5, from 12:30 p.m - 2 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church, 7333 O'Brien Rd., Baldwinsville. A funeral Mass will follow at 2 p.m. in the church. It will also be available online at https://www.staugustinesparish.org/mass .  Burial will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
