Carolyn L. VanVessem Scharpf, 92, of Baldwinsville, NY formerly of Upper Nyack, NY died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the home of her daughter. She was born in Patterson, NJ and lived in Upper Nyack most of her life. Carolyn was a graduate of Cortland State Teachers College and taught in the Nyack School District for 30 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Scharpf; two sisters, Morina Conklin and Matilda Green and three brothers, Peter, George and Alvin VanVessem.

Survivors: two daughters, Barbara a. Richards, with whom she resided in Baldwinsville and Susan M. (Ray) Begg of Mahwah, NJ; three grandchildren, Adrienne Begg of Wilmington, NC, Courtney Richards of Clay, NY and Christine Begg of Montvale, NJ; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Saturday, June 24, 2006, at St. Ann´s Church in Nyack. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack.
