With broken hearts, the family of Carol A. Citra (nee Restuccia) , 79, of Baldwinsville, New York convey her unexpected and peaceful passing at home on Friday, April 3, 2020.
Carol was born January 16, 1941 in Syracuse, New York to Giaccomo and Stella (Molchanoff) Restuccia, who preceded her death. After graduating Central High School, she worked as a telephone operator. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Mario Citra, who was born in Passopisciaro, Sicily. She and her loving husband of 40 years established and operated Citra Furniture Restorations until his death in 2000. Carol then worked as the Quality Control Manager at KS&R market research.
Carol was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing board games, coloring and singing with her grandchildren, shopping, dancing and listening to music. She was an avid reader who cherished time spent with her family including her two rescue cats, No-Name and Boston.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolmarie C. Brown and her husband Matt and twin granddaughters Bailey and Kendall; her son, Mario J. Citra and his wife Barbara and her grandson and "best friend" Mario, also known as "MJ".
Carol loved animals. She was often seen at Mercer Park feeding the ducks and geese. A celebration of her life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in her name to the Humane Society of Central New York or the CNY Cat Coalition.
