Carmen Gonzalez Palumbo, 95, of Baldwinsville, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Seneca Hill Manor. She was born in Gijon, Spain and moved to the US when she was 4. She lived in the NYC area before moving to the Baldwinsville area in 1981. Carmen worked part-time at Gimbels and Macy's for several years and for the Great Neck Long Island School District. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville and a member of the Canton Woods Senior Center where she worked in the library. Carmen was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Thomas Joseph Palumbo in 1970.

Survivors: her daughters; Helen (William) Benzing of Syracuse and Rose Stryjewski of Phoenix, AZ.; a sister, Luisa Alvarez of Florida; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services: 9:00am Thursday, August 18, 2011 at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either The Manor at Seneca Hill, Oswego or the Canton Woods Senior Center, Baldwinsville.
