Bruce D. Tompkins Sr., 76, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday. Born in Syracuse, he retired from the Village of Baldwinsville Water Department after many years.

Bruce enjoyed the outdoors especially camping. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, and going to the casino, and loved Elvis music.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Roberta; infant daughter, Amanda; sister, Eileen Shackleton; and granddaughter, Cassidy Rae Prosser.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth; children, Tina Jemola, Jennifer Bates, Bruce Tompkins Jr., Heather Tompkins, David (Sarah) Tompkins; sisters, Gloria (Ed) Daniszewski of Solvay, Rosemary (Dennis) Kelly of Moravia, and Marsha Tompkins of Elbridge; brothers, Carl (Avis) Tompkins of Memphis, Michael (Prudy) Tompkins of Baldwinsville, James (Brenda) Tompkins of Jordan, Mark (Steve) Tompkins of Syracuse, Randy Tompkins of Elbridge, and Ernie (Kelly) Tompkins of Auburn; 19 grandchildren, Timothy, Jeffrey, Christopher, Kayla, Zachary, Josiah, Daniel, Kristen, Aaron, Kole, Matias, Nevaeh-Rae, Noah, Joshua, Zachary, David Jr., Payton, Jaxson, and Paige; eight great-grandchildren, Ava, Jemma, Iris, Cayden, JJ, Anastatia, Grayson, and Paisley; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Burial will be in Belle Isle Cemetery, Warners.
