Bruce W. Lewis Sr., 87, of Baldwinsvlle passed away on Friday at The Cottages at Garden Grove. Born in Dalton, PA, his family resided in Central New York before he married and settled in Baldwinsville.

Bruce spent 38 years as a mechanic with the New York State DOT. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and spent many hours at the church, caretaking and volunteering. Bruce enjoyed bowling, the New York Yankees, old westerns, and volunteering with the Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau. He enjoyed playing games and cards and above all, he really just enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was kind and gentle and always ready to lend a helping hand.

He was predeceased by his sister, Wanda (Bill) Jesgarzewski and brother, Lowell (Ann) Lewis.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former, Carol A. Nentwick; son, Bruce (Stephanie) Lewis Jr. of Liverpool; sister, Lois Towner, of TN; brother, Gilbert(Mary) Lewis of Campbell; grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Lewis; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Ryder Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held, Friday September 15 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 110 Oswego St., Baldwinsville.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Contributions may be made to the SPCA or Grace Episcopal Church.
