Obituary

Blair Scott, of Baldwinsville and Skaneateles, New York, passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2011. Born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania on November 2, 1926, he was the son of Worthy and Mary Blair Scott. A graduate of Waynesburg High School, Blair enlisted in the United States Navy during WW II, was deployed and saw action in the South Pacific Theater as a PT boat gunner.

Blair worked as a steamfitter his entire life and helped build many of the pipelines and power generating stations that are still in use today. His free time was spent fishing, hunting, gardening and reading. He and his wife Bonnie raised six children and found time to also raise German Shepherds and several other breeds over the years. Blair was a "Meals on Wheels" volunteer and during the 1950 & 60's, while the family lived in Skaneateles, he coached little league baseball.

His wife of more then 50 years, Skaneateles native Marilyn "Bonnie" Davis Scott predeceased him in 2004. Blair's parents and only sibling, Janet Lively of Pittsburgh also predeceased him. Blair is survived by five sons and one daughter: Joe of Carlisle, PA; Kyle of Auburn, NY; Tom (Pia Helgesson) of Maui, Hawaii; G. Rob (Lynn Shepard) of Baldwinsville, NY; Clay of Maui, Hawaii and Dr. Jennifer Miceli (James) of Huntington, NY; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, as well as a niece and nephews.

Calling hours: Friday, January 21st 6pm to 7:30pm at Grace Episcopal Church, Oswego Road Baldwinsville, with a memorial service (Navy Honor Guard) to follow at 7:45pm at the church. Friends and relatives are also invited to share light refreshments downstairs in the church fellowship hall following the service. Burial is private.

Contributions can be made to the Central New York SPCA, 5878 East Molloy Road, Syracuse, 13211. Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville has charge of arrangements.
