Beverly R. Gerth, age 85, of Phoenix, NY, passed away Thursday, August 6th, 2026. Born March 21, 1941, in Worcester Massachusetts, to the late Luther and Ruth Richardson.

Her family relocated to North Syracuse where she graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School and entered the workforce accepting a position at Hancock Air Force Base in Syracuse NY. That is where she met her late husband Ralph D. Gerth. That union would create a loving family. They placed roots in Liverpool, NY and resided in Phoenix, NY.

Bev had a love for community involvement, which she acquired from her father, and at 16 years old she began volunteering with the daughters of Easter Star Youth Group, also known as the Triangle Girls. That was an experience that shaped her commitment to service and friendship.

In 1969 Bev and her husband Ralph opened a Carvel Ice Cream store in Fulton NY. Proudly in the Gerth family for 41 years. A place where employees and customers became friends and family. She made so many of the Fulton residents and surrounding area's families celebration special. Her gift of cake decorating was spectacular. Be it a birthday celebration, anniversary, holiday and wedding cakes. Her gift of detail and commitment was key in the success of the business.

God, Family and Friends were also most important to Bev. Her unconditional love and support towards her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was very evident to those around her. She loved family gatherings, holidays, game nights, bonfires and family camping trips to the Adirondacks. Enjoying nature's simple pleasures.

Bev was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Ralph Donald Gerth; her parents Luther F. Richardson and Ruth (Carpenter) Richardson; and sister, Nancy Smith.

Lovingly survived by her four children Sherron (Richard) Howland, Susan (Dennis) Coleman, Richard (Tammy) Gerth and David Gerth. Her 10 grandchildren, Nathaniel (Julie) Howland, Heather Coleman, Ashley Gerth, Emily Gerth Ricky (Anna) Gerth, Michael (Kaylee) Gerth, Ryan Gerth, Katelyn Gerth and Destinee and Josh.

She is also survived by her siblings, sister Judy (Ed) Todt; brother's Ron (Danielle) Richardson and Don Richardson.

In accordance with Bev's wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A memorial service for Beverly will be held on Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Little Utica Methodist United Church, 1459 Lamson Road, Phoenix, NY 13135. Following the memorial service, a Celebration of Life with be held at the home of Bev's granddaughter, Ashley Gerth, 19 Patrick Circle in Fulton, NY 13069.
