Betty J. Luke, 93, passed away Sunday, November 15 at Elderwood of Liverpool. She was born in Syracuse to the late John and Mabel Bennett and lived in the area most of her life. Betty had many roles in her lifetime, from helping her husband, Jack, run the Luke Family Farm, to a teacher's aide for the Phoenix School District, to owning and managing the Country House of English Smocking, to playing the organ for 30 years for the Little Utica Methodist Church. Her favorite and most important role was being a homemaker and loving mother and wife to her husband of 55 years and her 3 children.
Betty is predeceased by her husband, Jack Luke, daughter, Anne Lancaster, grandson, Andrew Luke, sister, Alberta Carpenter, and brother, Bruce Bennett. She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Bill) Lavin and Timothy (Sharon) Luke; sister Christine (Ray) Bassett, 10 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
