Bernard A Coyle, 72, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with illness. He was born in South Boston, MA and raised in Waltham, MA. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Waltham and attended Boston University. He served as a Military Policeman in the Massachusetts National Guard. Working for ALCOA would bring him to Syracuse where he met his wife Joan Atkinson. He would end up settling in Baldwinsville for 40 years where he never lost his Boston accent. He worked in the home improvement industry owning M&S Building Products. His true passion would be involved in helping people get elected to office. A skill he learned in the smoke filled halls of Boston from his father and uncles. Whether you were running for President, Governor or Village Trustee, Bernie could be counted on to aide(run) the campaign. He did take a break from that to attend Syracuse Crunch Hockey games where he could be found later singing along to Irish songs at nearby pubs. Lucky later in life all the Boston sports teams eased his suffering by bringing home a championship. Including attending the 2007 World Series with his bride of nearly 44 years where they would take their first rickshaw ride together. His last few years he enjoyed the time with his grandson who carries with him his Papa's love of making new friends. He is preceded by his parents William and Margaret, brothers William and Robert and sister Michelle Neville. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Joan, daughter Margaret, son Sean (Rebecca), grandson Liam, brothers Brian (Patricia), Stephen (Maria), Michael (Anne-Rose), and David (Mary) and sisters Margaret (Scott) Shanks and Mary Coyle (Vishnu Nevrekar).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 30 at 9:30 am in Falardeau Funeral Home and 10:00 am in St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Callings hours will be held Friday, April 29, 2016, from 4-7 pm at the funeral home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville, NY.
