Beatrice "Miss Bea" Carroll, 93 died Monday, July 11, 2016, peacefully in her sleep with family at her bedside. Bea was born in New York City as 1st generation American from Russian/Polish immigrants.
Bea went on to serve as a U.S. Coast Guard S.P.A.R. in WWII and became a Radioman 1st Class. She was very proud of her time in the service.
Bea worked at Citibank for 20 years finally retiring in 1978. She enjoyed her family, traveling and visiting with friends. She loved making new friends. Bea also loved to dance and sing.
She was predeceased by her husband John Carroll. They were a storybook romance. You never saw one without the other. They were married for 35 years.
Surviving are her two sons Donald E. (Teresa) Barker, Dennis J. Barker, 5 grandchildren: Jevon (Tracy Anne) Dore; Dennis Barker, Jr.; Dorothy Barker; Carrie Ann Barker and Shawn (Meredith) Barker; 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 8:30 am Saturday, July 23 at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville and a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St, Baldwinsville. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery, where she will once again be by her husband's side.
