Barbara Coit Turner, 94, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Born in Syracuse, the daughter of Katherine Cook Coit and Lynde Harrison Coit, she was a 1939 graduate of Nottingham High School and a cum laude graduate of Syracuse University with a BS degree in Education and was Marshall of her Graduating Class. Barbara taught school in Liverpool and Baldwinsville and she returned to Syracuse University for her Masters Degree in Library Science. She retired from Palmer Elementary School in Baldwinsville in 1980.

She was a member of the Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church, Syracuse Home Association Auxilary, and the Onondaga County Retired Teachers Association. She was an active volunteer for Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels for over 25 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernest B. Turner in 1995.

Surviving are her children; Marilynn T. (Gary) Hafensteiner, John E. (Joan) Turner, Susan B. Turner, Kathy J. Turner (Frank Forte)and Robert H. (Cathy Lee) Turner; grandchildren; Elizabeth, Martha, Katherine, Thomas, Lindsey, James, John and Anna; her brother, John Harrison (Carolyn) Coit; several loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 4-7pm Monday, June 20th at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Services will be 10:00am Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the funeral home with burial in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Syracuse.
