It is with great sorrow and love that we announce the peaceful passing of A. Robert Babikian of Syracuse, NY, formerly of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA, on February 20, 2026. Bob was born on November 17, 1954, to Ann and Ardavast Babikian. In his youth, Bob traveled around the country working a variety of jobs before finding his now ex-wife, Grace, and settling in Manchester-by-the-Sea. There, Bob became an active community member through volunteering with the Manchester Sailing Association, Annisquam Village Church and the local Boy Scout Troop.

Professionally, Bob spent most of career in sales; he was the consummate sales person, but his real talent was motivating sales reps. He excelled as a manager of numerous yellow page companies.

When not working or volunteering, Bob cultivated many hobbies that persisted throughout his life. Bob loved gardening on the weekends, sailing on the weeknights, and waterskiing during family vacation in the Adirondacks.

Known for his sense of humor and optimistic attitude, Bob's infectious laugh helped him make friends wherever he went. A frequent traveler, Bob loved nothing more than exploring a country, especially Portugal, and indulging in its cuisine with his family and friends.

Though Bob left Syracuse, Syracuse never really left him. He eventually returned to Syracuse to be closer to his brother, Mihran; sister, Karen; and the rest of his extended family.

Bob is survived by his children, Darcey Ann of Santa Barbara CA and Colin Robert of Seattle, WA; his sister, Karen; his former wife, Grace; and seven nephews, Tommy, Michael, Jeffrey, David, Mark, Paul, and Todd.

A celebration of his life will be held on May 2, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Manchester Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's research at curealz.org
