Arlene P. Vespa, 93, of Baldwinsville, passed away Wednesday at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place. She joyfully devoted her life to the loving care of her son Joe who had cerebral palsy. Her humor and positive outlook kept her son smiling and laughing for 57 years.

Arlene was born in Syracuse and attended St. Anthony's school. She was employed as a nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital for many years and was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Vespa Sr; son, Edward J. " Joe " Vespa Jr.; brothers, Thomas Mortel and Leon Gasiorowski; and her sister Marion DiNicola.

Arlene is survived by her brother, Walter Gasiorowski and many "wonderful & marvelous "niece's, nephews and friends. Special thanks to all the staff at Syracuse Home/McHarrie Place for the dedication and care that they provided daily.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. in St Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
