Anthony N. Markert, 88, of Baldwinsville died Monday, August 20, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and lived in Baldwinsville since 1951. Tony received his MBA Degree from Syracuse University. He was employed with Cathedral Candle Company for 34 years and was previously with Will & Baumer Candle Company for 25 years. Tony was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. He was a Staff Sargeant in the US Army during WW II. An Avid golfer, he was a charter member of Beaver Meadows Golf Club and was a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus Council #5082.

Survivors: his wife of 56 years, the former Amber Herriman; two daughters, Linda Rae Markert and Debra Jean Murrin; two sons, Richard Anthony and Gary Alan; two sisters, Rosemary "Pat" Markert and Leonora Donahue; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 1-4pm Sunday, August 26, 2007, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A reception in Tony's honor will be held immediately following from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the American Legion on Smokey Hollow Road in Baldwinsville.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 am Monday, August 27, 2007, at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St. Baldwinsville. Burial in Our Lady Of Peace Cemetery in Clay.
