Anna K. Simek, 86, formerly of Baldwinsville, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013, at Iroquois Nursing Home. She was born June 5, 1927 in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Joseph Kratky and Emily Bowler. Anna was a 1947 graduate of the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing and was a retired Registered Nurse. She worked for various doctors in Syracuse. She enjoyed her summers with her family at their cottage on the Great Sacandaga Lake.

Anna was predeceased by her sisters Mary Lenhard and Frances Henningson.

Anna is survived by her loving husband, John of 59 years; son, Joseph (JoAnn) Simek; daughter, Rosemary (John) Backenstross; two special grandchildren, Casey and Jeremy Simek and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the 3rdFloor Staff and Karen Regan at Iroquois Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave to Anna.

Services: 12:00pm Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial is in Riverview Cemetery. Calling hours are 4-7pm Monday, December, 9, 2013, at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
