Obituary

Ann was born July 4, 1946, in Manhattan, New York, to Edward Ginty and Veronica (Flynn) Ginty.

Ann grew up in New York City, where she attended Catholic school as a child. The church was a vital part of Ann's life, and she attended mass every week, volunteering after her retirement. Although she left the City in the early 1970s, she never lost her accent, her love of the Yankees, or her fierce loyalty to the NYPD, in which her father bravely served.

After leaving New York City, Ann began her career as a banker, which she continued in until her retirement. Ann was beloved by her coworkers and customers, making dozens of friends over the decades with whom (and about whom) she could always share an entertaining story. By the end of her career, Ann had become such a fixture in the lives of her customers and friends, that they would refuse to go into the bank if Ann was not there to help them.

Ann married her husband, Leland, on May 6, 1981. Ann and Lee lived all over New York State before settling in Syracuse in the early 1990s. There, they enjoyed bowling, golfing, and watching Syracuse University athletics (Ann partial to basketball).  When they weren't enjoying sports together, Ann and Lee loved to dine out around Syracuse. Ann, a fashionable woman with a purse to match every occasion (even a Yankee game), enjoyed their favorite restaurants where they were regulars and known to all the staff by name.

Ann was predeceased by her parents, her brother Edward and her sister Dorothy, her grandson McHale Clark, and her husband of 42 years, Lee. She is survived by her brother and sister: Robert Ginty (Sharon) of Charlotte, and Patricia Weigman (Matthew) of Putnam Valley; her three daughters: Nancy Monette (Bruce) of Malone, Deidre McGinty of Washingtonville, and Monica Spampata of Washingtonville; seven grandchildren: Ashley Monette (Brian Lanciault), Patrick Reinisch (Jaclyn), Bruce Monette III (Grace), Lillian Smith (Michael), Cyrus Clark, Veronica Meachum (Travis), and Jack Clark; six great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 11:00 am, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Baldwinsville. A burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Ann's family asks for donations to be sent to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in support of the new career training center in Doula, Cameroon.
