Andrew J. Damiano, 58, of Baldwinsville died January 28, 2009 surrounded by his family at home after a long battle with kidney cancer. He was born in 1950 to Vincent (Jim) and Jane Damiano in Utica, NY. He and his wife Catherine were owners and operators of Carter Upholstery in Nedrow, NY. Andy was the Director of Administration and Finance for the City of Cortland for the past 17 years. Prior to his career in Cortland, Andy was the City Manager for Newburgh, NY, and worked in Economic Development for the City of Syracuse. He was a member of the Empire State Quarter Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Association. He was also an avid Syracuse Orange Basketball fan.

Andy was predeceased by his parents, Jane and Jim Damiano and his bother Larry.

Survivors: his wife Cathy (Carter) of 33 years; daughter, Dana Damiano of Dallas, TX; son, Russell (Sarah) Damiano of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Leigh (Brian) Strait of Rochester, NY; father-in-law, Bernie Carter of Syracuse; sister, Rosie Varno; and 2 brothers, Joe and Jim Damiano; and his favorite dog, Cooper.

Services: at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville on Saturday, January 31, 2009 from 2pm-6pm. A celebration of life will take place at the Nedrow Fire Department on Sunday from 12 noon-4pm.
