Amber L. Kurtnacker Schalk, 39, of Chittenango died Monday, June 23, 2003 at her mother's home. She was born in Syracuse. She was a 1981 graduate of Phoenix High School and received a business degree from Bryant & Stratton Business College. She was employed 20 years as a Credit Manager at Parksite Plunkette Webster, E. Syracuse. She was a member of both the Central NY Romance Writers and the PackeTeers Writing group.

Survivors: her husband of 21 years, Daniel E. Schalk of Chittenango; 2 daughters, Kelley M. Schalk and Kristin E. Schalk both of Chittenango; her mother, Patricia J. Miller of Fulton; a sister, Cindy Peebles of Carthage; a brother, Daniel Miller of Sylmar, CA; her maternal grandmother, Maude Kurtnacker of Baldwinsville; paternal grandmother, Eunice Miller of Phoenix, AZ; her mother-in-law, Catherine Schalk of N. Syracuse; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services: 10:00am Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial, Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Calling hours are 2-4 & 7-9pm Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
