Obituary

Amber H. Markert, 97, of Baldwinsville died peacefully in her home while being comforted by family members.

She was born in Louisville, NY on September 2, 1926 and lived most of her life in Baldwinsville. She graduated from North High School in Syracuse as a member of the Class of 1944, and completed one additional year of post-secondary education. Prior to, and during the early years of her marriage, she was employed by Will & Baumer Candle Company. She lovingly and skillfully raised her four children for 20 years, and then held several secretarial/office managerial positions for another 25 years. Her most recent place of employment was the S.M. Flickinger Company in East Syracuse, from which she retired in 1994.

As a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Amber lived her life to the fullest. She traveled internationally, played golf and bowled on several leagues into her 90s, and hosted numerous fabulous parties. She loved music, dancing, gambling and playing the lottery (and she was very lucky!).

She was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 56 years Anthony N. Markert, and her brother-in-law Robert Pacheck.

Amber is survived by two daughters, Linda Rae Markert (William R. Hayes) and Debra J. Murrin (Dave); two sons, Richard A. Markert (Venera Jouraeva) and Gary A. Markert (Kelly); one sister, Barbara (Barney) Pacheck; six grandchildren, Timothy, Anne, Lauren, Melissa, Alan and Kendra; four step-grandchildren, Josh, Alex, Kricket, and Katie; fourteen great grandchildren; Iann
Hunter, Johnnie, Benjamin, Ethan, Tanner, Sydney, Brooklyn, James, Madelyn, Dominick, Avalon, Noelle, and AJ; two nephews, James and Charles.
