IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alva Dean
Lovenburg
March 15, 1932 – September 8, 2008
Alva Dean Lovenburg was born in Madrid, Nebraska on March 15, 1932 to parents Ardell Loyal Lovenburg and Anna Viola (Silvrants) Lovenburg. Al enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served in the Korean War during his twenty years of service. Highly trained in radar technology, he worked until 1990 for the Federal Aviation Administration at Hancock International Airport, becoming known to his colleagues as "Super Tech". He finished his career with Raytheon.
Al was a talented woodworker, as evidenced by the many pieces of fine furniture still gracing the homes of family and friends. He had a lifelong love of fishing, which he shared with his children and grandchildren.
Al is lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-four years, Marian Dale (Sumner) Lovenburg, and three daughters and their families: Kristi, Wayne and Conor Stokes of Lansing, New York; Susan Lovenburg and Peter, Sarah, Emma and Meg Robinson of Davis, California; and Lisa, Edward, Alexandra, Jeffrey and Elena Kilgore of Lancaster, New York. He is survived by sisters Dorothy Pegg, Esteline Waterman and Joyce Losino, and brother Galen Lovenburg. A fourth sister, Dolores Updike, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Lovenburg's residence in Baldwinsville.
