Allen R. Eidt. 92. of Baldwinsville, passed away quietly Thursday evening surrounded by family, after a brief illness. He has returning to the loving arms of his parents, Walter & Marion Eidt and his brother Roger. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara R, (Herrick); and his sons, David; Douglas and his wife Joy along with their son Christopher (Heather) Perrin and granddaughter Helena, His Sister in Law, Elizabeth Hotaling and many nieces and nephews. A resident of Solvay before becoming a life long resident of Baldwinsville, he graduated from Baldwinsville High School and then served in the Army, while being stationed in Germany and Switzerland. After receiving his honorable discharge from the service, he worked at Western Electric and retired from Verizon. An avid golfer and bowler. Known for a quick wit and a nasty drive down the fairway. He enjoyed hunting with his friends at the little shack in Osceola. During his retirement, Barb and Al would travel out West to visit family and friends. He would take photos of the Western landscape all through the trips. Calling hours will be held 4-7 PM, Thursday March 23, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A Funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home followed by burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the the Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps or the Baldwinsville Police Department.
