Obituary

Agnes S. (Krupka) Malecki, 79, of Baldwinsville, passed into eternal life Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital. A lifelong resident of Central New York, Agnes was raised in Mattydale, the daughter of Floyd and Mary Drazek Krupka. Agnes graduated from North Syracuse High School and began her professional career in the secretarial field while proudly expanding her skills through vocational school. She worked the bulk of her career in the print media industry, including several years for the Syracuse Herald Journal. She was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Basilica and enjoyed all aspects of her Polish heritage – most notably polka dancing, eating traditional Polish food and being called Babci by her grandsons. Other favorite pastimes included gardening, sewing fashionable clothing, walking along beaches and Onondaga Lake Park and watching boats cruise down the Seneca River. Agnes was a kind-hearted and loving mother whose cooking and baking exemplified her nurturing spirit. Her kitchen was a regular gathering place for her children and their friends to enjoy a hearty meal and delicious desserts like her signature apple pie. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Chester "Chet" (1989), son in-law Larry Hart (2003) and several siblings including Edward, Chester, Floyd, Frank, Joseph, Cecilia, Ronald.

She is survived by her daughter, best friend and caregiver Valerie Malecki Hart of Baldwinsville, son Steve and daughter-in-law Kimberly and grandsons Cade and Gage Malecki of Tampa, FL. Agnes is also survived by brothers Stanley and John Krupka and numerous nieces nephews, and friends including Daniel Krupka, who selflessly assisted Valerie with Agnes' care for many years.

Calling hours will be held at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville Sunday, January 20, 2013 between 5:00pm and 7:00pm.
